Community Garden

  • Every year MVHCAP plants, tends, and harvests between 1,500–2,000 lbs of fresh fruits and vegetables, distributed FREE throughout the neighborhood and to local food pantries, soup kitchens, and churches.

  • Volunteers are welcome throughout the growing season — stop by, help out, and share in the harvest!

Neighborhood Advocacy

Starting with input from neighbors at monthly Town Hall meetings, MVHCAP is a tireless advocate for issues that affect our community — with a focus on affordable home ownership and resident empowerment.
Recent projects include:

  • Completing the Urban Renewal District Redevelopment Plan (N. Union to Scio Street).

  • Inclusion of owner-occupied housing in Inner Loop North redevelopment.

  • Neighborhood safety and crime prevention with Rochester Police Department Sector R.

  • Collaboration on New Bethel housing project and Reimagining the Alleyways initiative.

Inner Loop North: Mobility and Development Strategy

Parallel to the design of a new street network to replace the Inner Loop North, the City of Rochester is developing a strategy for land use and redevelopment in the project area.
